Dave Hnatiuk

Dave Hnatiuk is Co-founder of The SongHunters, an efficient search service for music supervisors.

He is also co-author of the book "Music Supervision: The Complete Guide to Selecting and Licensing Music & Sound Design for Media," (Schirmer Trade Books, 2005) and co-manages its sister site, Music Supervision Central.

Dave Hnatiuk is a highly experienced music supervisor and music-for-media producer, as well as a sound designer, voice-over artist, and public speaker on synch licensing.

With MTV On-Air Promotions in NYC as a major client for Sound Design & Music Supervision, Dave has recently music supervised the launch campaigns of MTV's "Jersey Shore," the highly anticipated "SKINS" series, the all-new "Beavis & Butthead" from Mike Judge, and two consecutive seasons of "America's Best Dance Crew."

Dave has music supervised and produced for ABC, Fox, NBC, MTV, and many more. During his time with MTV, he's won Promax, Beacon, Mark and a Pop Awards for his work. Dave regularly does music consultation for NBC's "Football Night in America" as well.

In the world of cinema, Dave music supervised the feature concert film "Cheech & Chong's Hey Watch This!" for director Christian Charles and The Weinstein Company. He also music supervised the 2005 Merchant Ivory/Sony Pictures Feature Film "Heights" starring Glenn Close, James Marsden, and Elizabeth Banks; the New Line Cinema comedy "Full of It" by director Christian Charles in 2007; Evan Oppenheimer's feature "Justice"; Vincent Rubino's comedy feature "The Break-Up Artist"; and the feature "Happy and Bleeding" for MouseRoar Media starring Matthew Settle and Katia Winter.


David Weiss

David Weiss is Co-founder of The SongHunters, an efficient search service for music supervisors.

He is also co-author of the book "Music Supervision: The Complete Guide to Selecting and Licensing Music & Sound Design for Media," (Schirmer Trade Books, 2005) and co-manages its sister site, Music Supervision Central.

In addition, David is the Founder/Editor of www.sonicscoop.com, a news site that covers New York City music production and business.

An internationally published freelance journalist, he was the NYC editor of Mix magazine from 2003-2010, and his work has appeared regularly in publications such as Drum!, Time Out NY and Remix. He also maintains a corporate writing/communications strategy consultancy at www.dwords.com.

On the musical side, David Weiss produces and composes electronic music as Impossible Objects - visit him at www.myspace.com/impossibleobjectsmusic. He has composed for such clients as the online trader FXDD, has created a collection of drones and rhythmic textures for the boutique library www.editorschoicemusic.com, and his sound effects and samples have been incorporated for live event use at Madison Square Garden.

He also founded MeetYourBeat, a provider of loops and one-shots, which produced MYBVolume 1, 2 & 3 with Jamaican percussion legend Larry McDonald and "Emeril Live" bandleader Doc Gibbs.

David graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Communications (1994), and lives in Manhattan.
